Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to Negombo (20–30 minutes).You will be met by a representative of Sri Lanka Tailor Made and transfer to Negombo. Check in at the hotel and simply relax after your flight!!! .If time permits you may visit city of Negombo for Sightseeing.

After a very good night sleep and an early breakfast, you may proceed to the cultural city to explore the island’s ancient highlights. Continue to your hotel in Habarana, check-in and enjoy the surroundings. You also have the option of climbing the Sigiriya Rock Fortress , the rock rises 200 meters above ground and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is also known as King Kasyapa’s “palace in the sky”. Fifth century creativity and skill produced a luxurious royal citadel with ramparts, moats, gateways, and a well laid out city, inclusive with bathing pools and gardens. The Mirror Wall, which still produces a glass-like reflection 1500 years after it was first created. Also on the top you can see the famous Sigiriya frescoes – beautiful images of bare-breasted maidens painted on the rock face thousands of years ago. Return to the hotel and simply rest.

First you will visit the Ancient city of Polonnaruwa an ancient royal capital, with its well-preserved 12th century ruins & impressive stone culture recalls an inspired past. (Optional: A great way to explore the ancient city is on a bicycle – these can be rented with an early appointment) Evening enjoy a jeep safari in the Minneriya National Park. Dominated by the ancient Minneriya Tank this national park has plenty of scrub and light forest in its 8890 hectares to provide shelter for its toque macaques, sambar deer, leopards and Elephants – to name a few. In addition, an enormous number of birds ( some 160 species) have been spotted at Minneriya, including endemics such as the Sri Lankan hanging parrot and the crimson-fronted barbet. End the day with a swim at the hotel pool and with a lovely dinner.

After breakfast, drive from Habarana to Pidurangala Rock and begin the climb to the summit. Passing through the ancient Pidurangala Royal Cave Temple. At the top, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including a spectacular overlook of Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Visit to Habarana and enjoy a village tour experiencing traditional Sri Lankan rural life. Travel by bullock cart through landscapes, take a canoe ride across a peaceful lake, and walk through local farmland and villages. Visit a traditional home to see authentic cooking methods and enjoy a simple local meal. This experience offers a glimpse into the culture, daily life, and warm hospitality of rural Sri Lanka.

After Breakfast visit Dambulla Cave Temples to photograph more than 21,000 Sq. feet of paintings on the walls and ceilings of the 5 caves, more than 150 Buddha Statues, and statues of Kings and gods. Thereafter leave for Kandy. En-route visit a Spice Garden, Alu-vihara Buddhist Temple and a Batik Factory on the way. You could photograph different types spice trees, plants & creepers (only if time permits). Overnight in Kandy.

Today morning in Kandy once again visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic after photographing from the garden in front, the Audience Hall, the Royal Palace (remains) from the road in front and the Sacred Tooth Relic proper, in the central courtyard, the Island in the lake and the bathing pavilion and any other places of interest. Take the Upper Lake drive for city views, Kandy Market for fruits, vegetable and people. Thereafter visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens. Photograph in some of the beautiful avenues, in the Orchid House, beautiful trees, flowering creepers and ferns, the Royal Palm Avenue with the Bullock Cart you can hire for photographs and leave for Gadaladeniya & Lankatilake Buddhist Temples dating to 14th Century. You can visit a place where brass work is done near Gadaladeniya Temple. If interested you can visit Embekke Devala close to Lankatilake, where woodcarving is found in all the pillars in the main open hall. More than 500 separate designs are found dating to 14th C. Evening go for a Kandyan Dance performance, well in advance to select a suitable place for your photography.

Morning leave Ella via Nuwara Eliya, Gampola and Ramboda. On the way you are passing Tea plantations, factories, Tea Pluckers Stop at the Glenloch or Labookele Tea Factory to see and photograph the processing of tea. See Ramboda Falls (329 feet high) on the way. At Nuwara Eliya see the houses similar to houses & mansions in England, same type of flowers and vegetables and take the train from Nanu oya enjoy the famous science train ride to Ella You will be picked up from Ella railway station and drive to hotel in Ella for your overnight stay.

After breakfast, visit little Adam’s peak and enjoy the spectacular views around and visit most famous nine arch bridges, spend the evening at Ella most popular party town.

After breakfast, drive to Yala via Ella (most beautiful place in the Island), Wellawaya and Wirawila. Visit Buduruvagala to see the tallest Buddha Statue (51 feet in height) and 6 other statues dating to 8th Century A.D. You will be passing many interesting village scenes for photography.

in the afternoon go for a Safari by Jeep to Yala National Park, with a Tracker. Visit places frequented by Leopards (Panthera Pardus Kotiya) in the Park, including visits to “Koti gala”, “Kottamba-gaswewa”, “Pandi-kema”, “Wepandeniya”, “Meda para” and “Wal-mal-kema” where leopards are found frequently. Stay in one of the places recommended by the Tracker to get an award winning photograph of a Sri Lankan Leopard. Then go for Wild Elephants, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Wild Boar, Wild Buffalo, Crocodiles, Sambhur, Jackal, other animals and birds including Sri Lanka Jungle Fowl, Brown-capped Babbler, Stone Curlew, Great Thick Knee, Black-necked Stork, (the largest bird in Sri Lanka) Lesser Adjutant, Painted Stork, Sirkeer Malkoha, Blue-faced Malkoha, Brahminy Myna, Orange-breasted Green Pigeon, Grey Hornbill, Malabar Pied Hornbill, Cormorants, Darters, Herons, Bitterns, Lapwings and other birds. Return to hotel and spend the evening.

Or you may just relax at your hotel and enjoy a swim at the lovely swimming pool or simply read a book while enjoying the breeze from the Indian Ocean.
